This breed survey has been designed to provide data recording regarding Gangliosidosis 1, and Gangliosidosis (Sandhoff) 2 prevalence within the UK. Without a breed survey investigating this further we are left working with anecdotal evidence regarding the genetic health of the UK Shiba population. Currently this data is not available from the Kennel Club regarding the prevalence of the disease. For this reason further research is needed. All information provided will be treated in the strictest confidence - your identity and your dog's identity will never be published. By completing a survey for your dog, you give your consent for the data to be published anonymously in the annual health report and used in research, for breed health improvement. All raw data will only be seen by the health coordinator and treated in the strictest of confidence.
